So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania! Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California! But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia! Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee! Let freedom ring from every hill and every molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

(Martin Luther King, Jr)

Sat in the NIE library the whole day - I declare it's my newest favourite hangout. It's so pretty!

Well it's closing now...have never been in a school library til closing time. Sunset here was really beautiful - ought to get my preccciousssss beloved 35mm camera over here some time to get a photo of it.

This place feels like the airport somehow, especially when the librarian makes those closing-soon announcements over the PA system. I half expect to hear the mechanical swell of plane engines and the zoom as they lift off.

What would you do if :

The world fell into the hands of aliens?
Hope they're all as cute as Brendan Fehr :P

Your house is surrounded by man-eating dinosaurs?
oh that's no problem, I'm a girl not a man *corniness*

You're stuck in a house of zombies (like resident evil)?
Someone get me a machine gun and lots of ammunition, and I'm ready to splat some zombie skulls! If not... er, you know how they say if you can't beat, them join them...

Someone gave you a million bucks?
Only one million ah?

Sadako climbed out of your tv set?
Invite her for a cup of ocha and psychoanalyse her childhood trauma

A genie gave u three wishes?
Ask for unlimited wishes.

Simon said your singing sucks?
Tell him to be glad at least I sing better than William Hung

Time stopped, and you could turn back in time?
Wouldn't change a thing. Too messy and troublesome.

You had the ability to change yourself into anything u wanted?
How about Queen of the world?

You suddenly become a superstar?
Write very angsty songs and plot a way to die most dramatically at the height of my fame. Hey, ain't that what all of them love doing?

You suddenly go bankrupt?
for me to go bankrupt... I would first need to actually have money to lose the money...

You can fly?
Cool! No more need for public transport. Heh. Probably save me loads.

You can cast spells?
Hm... crucio anyone who gets on my nerves *wicked smirk*

You got handicapped?
Depends on the type of handicap... suppose I could learn to live with it...?

You can't see?
Just die, because I can't read and will therefore die of boredom.

You can't hear?
Sing off-key happily and join Singapore Idol. I could be Singapore's answer to William Hung!

You had one breath to say something before you die?
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there; I did not die

You had a chance to write a song on your life, what would you call it?
Waiting For

Buffy: Is Willow around?
Xander: How can I convince you people that it's over? You assume because I'm here, she's here, that I somehow mysteriously know where she is.
Buffy: Those her books?
Xander: Yeah, she's in the bathroom.

Xander: Youre the bait! Go act bait-y!
Cordelia: But whats the plan?
Xander: The vampire attacks you.
Cordelia: And?
Xander: The vampire kills you. We watch, we rejoice.

I have officially been driven mad by boredom.
Why is it that I can remember dialogue from BtVS word for word, but cannot for the life of me remember what's in my notes?

Entire campus blacked out last night, subsequently rendering the internet nonexistent for half of today. Me and my roomie came up with the theory that it was all a conspiracy to let students have a bit of stress relief before the exams, then force us to go back to the grindstone without distractions. Not a blessing in disguise as it turned out, because I still managed to not study by playing about 50 rounds of spider solitaire. Strangely, water heaters in the bathrooms are now functional 24hours a day... I cant decide what is more relevant to me a hot shower on a warm and humid afternoon, or checking up facts, checking email, checking to make sure my friends havent for some reason or other decided suicide is a viable option to deal with lifes screw-ups, etc.

Sunday, April 11, 2004

This weekend has been grossly unproductive. Managed to finish a grand total of three chapters only. And my attention span wavers so easily I'll write about one or two lines, then spend a disproportionate amount of time either playing spider solitaire or watching video clips Ive amassed in my laptop over the year. Argh. Also succumbed to one of my neat-freak moods and spent the past hour or so packing everything from my hard drive to my shelf.

7 + 13 + 11 + 11 = 42. That's how many more chapters in total I'll have to get through ;___; And each 20-page reading can actually be condensed into about three main ideas. What is their freaking problem? Its not like they're students with a word quota on their essays! And everything overlaps! *grumble, mutinous mutters*

You are Gambit!

You are a fierce fighter and a good friend to have.
Your preference for solitude and your
attractiveness make you very intriguing to
those you meet. Unfortunately, close
relationships are few and far between for you
because you often have trouble opening up to
others.

Which X-Men character are you most like?

In desperate attempt to make myself start studying, I have resorted to drastic measures and disconnected my computer from the internet. The fact that youre reading this entry shows you just how successful my attempt to divorce myself from all contact with the internet has been. (Oh heathen demigod of the LCD screen and internet cable, we offer up our grades, sanity and eyesight as sacrifice... et lux perpetua luceat eis.)

I am totally kicking myself for not starting on the readings earlier suddenly realizing how much there are, and how long its going to take me to wade through all of them >_< Only a little more than a week left to exams *brain overloads with stress* The introductory course to Journalism is driving me mad with boredom... only mildly better than the lectures. At least the IT text has pictures. Have spotted a Will & Grace pic. Also, theres a Sean Hayes pic in the Speech textbook *beams*

All I really want to do is:
1. Watch "Interview With The Vampire", "Good Will Hunting", "Dogma" and both the Harry Potter films again despite the fact that I can probably remember all the scripts almost word for word. And watch "Fight Club" over and over again so I can memorise that too.
2. Get my hands on Stephen Kings entire Dark Tower series, including the newest Wolves of the Calla.
3. Catch up on all the Harry Potter fanfiction considering I havent been reading or writing for nearly half a year now.

However, at this moment I also feel like Im five nanoseconds away from suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and deep vein thrombosis. I need to back... away... slowly... from... the... computer...

You're Brave New World!
by Aldous Huxley

With an uncanny ability for predicting the future, you are a true psychic. You can see how the world will change and illuminate the fears of future generations. In the world to come, you see the influence of the media, genetic science, drugs, and class warfare. And while all this might make you happy, you claim the right to be unhappy. While pregnancy might seem painful, test tube babies scare you most. You are obsessed with the word "pneumatic".

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

oh, go me, I'm the book I studied for Lit S... but it's ok, I kinda liked some parts of the book - including the introduction by the author, which was fun to read... the choice between madness and utter lunacy. And yes, I claim the right to be unhappy, I claim the right to not know what lies ahead of me, and I claim the right to the exquisite pain that is the human experience, because in this book is one of my philosophies of life - you can't be truly happy without having first known sorrow.

But I did manage to finish the website, so at least my weekend wasn't completely wasted. Also managed to watch 3 movies and do a new layout for this blog :P

I can't believe the love I give
Is not enough to end your fears
I guess I couldn't live without the things that made my life what it is
Can't you hear me calling oh yeah
Everybody's shaking oh yeah
Tonight everything is over
I feel too young

Oh rainfalls and hard times coming they won't leave me tonight
I wish I knew what I was doing
Just to let this spirit survive

Everybody's dancing
I guess I couldn't live without the things that made my life what it is
Can't you hear me calling oh yeah
Everybody's dancing oh yeah
Tonight everything is over
I feel too young
